This post is part of an ambassadorship with Gerber Childrenswear at Walmart. All opinions are my own.
We’re quickly approaching 1 year with our sweet little Miss Mckenna and for lack of a better way to put it, I can’t believe it. We waited so long for her and we tried so hard for her and now she’s been here almost an entire year. I can’t help but feel so happy and so blessed for our little Rae of sunshine. She fits so perfectly into our family, makes us all laugh till we cry, and has brought us all closer together. If I do anything as her mother, I hope I show her how much she is loved.
It’s something that’s hard to explain to a child so small, but you were wished for, hoped for, and prayed for for the longest time. Mama cried so many tears before you came and now I cry so many tears of joy that you’re finally here. You’ve taught me a lot this past year. You’ve tested my patience, you’ve taught me to problem solve, and you’ve reminded me that it’s not really that hard to make it through a work day on 3 hours of sleep.
You’ve shown me how special the bond between sisters is. That big smile you get on your face when your big sister comes into the room? No one else makes you smile quite that big! And you know what? Your big sister, Alea, waited a long time for you, too. She prayed for you and asked for you and she was so happy when she finally found out she was going to be a big sister. It’s so fun to see the bond between the two of you strengthen as your personality develops and as the year goes on.
I have a feeling you’re going to be a feisty little one. You’re as sweet as pie, you love to snuggle in to mama and dada, but you’ve got a big personality and I have a feeling you’re going to have a hard time hearing the word “no.” You’ve already showed me that a time or two!
I’m looking forward to watching you learn and grow right before my very eyes. You’re already so smart and love to point out your favorite characters and I can’t help but smile when you “roar” like a lion! I have no doubt that you’ll grow up to be just as smart as your big sister and I know she’ll teach you so much!
Mama loves you sweet girl!
Notice those sweet little polka dots? We’ve grown quite fond of the new Gerber Childrenswear line at Walmart and the adorable pieces they have to offer. I love that all of the outfits coordinate well with one another. I’m all about that mix-and-match life– especially when I don’t lay out her outfits ahead of time! It’s nice to know I can just grab a few Gerber pieces and be good to go! Their collection includes a wide range of pieces including bodysuits, sleepers, gowns, socks, booties, 3-piece outfit sets, and even some non-clothing items like burp cloths, receiving blankets, hooded towels and wash cloths! It’s great to have a one-stop-shop for baby gift shopping, too, am I right? Just see for yourself! Too cute!
We’ll be partnering with them through the end of the year and Mckenna is looking forward to modeling many more outfits and I’m looking forward to chasing her around the living room many more times trying to snap a couple of photos! Phew! This girl gives me a run for my money and a pretty good workout actually! Ha!
